The Buck Stopped There

I was disappointed to see the picture of a graduate toting what looked like a once-vibrant buck’s head and forelegs [Eliot Circular, September 2011]. ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ÕŽòè¤ies make a study of being inclusive where human beings are concerned, but nonhuman individuals remain conspicuously absent from the moral charts of most ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ÕŽòè¤ies. In this photo the buck is mocked even in death, revealing ignorance and indifference concerning other living beings. In some ways ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ÕŽòè¤ is shamefully mainstream.
