Mary Kriger Struve 48
Mary Kriger Struve ’48, June 17, 2012, in Berkeley, California. Mary grew up in a Russian émigré community in Harbin, China, and in the French Concession of Shanghai. Her family arrived in the U.S. in 1938. She attended Black Mountain College and studied a year at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ÕŽòè¤, and then completed undergraduate and master’s degrees at UC Berkeley. She and her husband, Glen Struve, collaborated on translations of Russian literature and traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe. Mary enjoyed walking her dogs in the Berkeley hills and photographing birds, flowers, and landscapes. Survivors include a daughter and son, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1985.
